What should I be doing with my extra cash?
Hey all,
I’m 24, making $190k base salary with around $50k in annual bonuses. I’ve been pretty disciplined with my finances and have the following situation:
Monthly Expenses: ~$1,500 (living in a medium-cost area
Mortgage: $1,500/month
Debt: None (no car payment, no student loans, no credit cards)
Retirement: Maxed out 401k and Roth IRA for the last few years
With all that covered, I have some extra cash each month. I’m wondering what’s the best way to put that to use. Should I:
Invest in a taxable brokerage account?
Look into real estate (rental properties or REITs)?
Build more cash reserves for flexibility?
Or something else entirely?
I don’t have any major financial goals in the short term, but I want to make sure I’m using my money wisely to grow wealth long-term.
Appreciate any thoughts or suggestions!
