I kind of miss just gaming on console...
I've gamed on console for years and for the past few years I slowly built a gaming PC for myself, but I dunno if I'm a complete PC gaming lover still after all these years. I've went from an rx 580, to rtx 3070, to now a 4070 super. I've bought almost all my PlayStation titles on PC too and gotten used to mouse and keyboard gaming, and I love gaming at a much higher framerate where I feel there are no compromises with graphics or framerate. When I got back to console it was a bit jarring playing with lower graphics and lower framerate, but I can't help just love turning on my PS5 with my controller and resuming a game right where I left off, especially after a long day of work. The super fast SSD loading times are also great. However, when I go back to my PC to game, I have to load up everything right from the start. It feels like a bit of a nuisance but once it gets going I enjoy it. However, I also miss just gaming from the couch, and for some reason, gaming on a couch with a TV just feels way more engaging and immersive than at a computer desk. I thought oh well I should actually hook up my PC to my tv and get the best of both worlds, but I can't tell you what a headache this is. I still want the flexibility to game from my desk when I want, but switching to the tv and making sure the game transfers over to the screen, with the correct resolution and everything just adds more hassle than I'd like to be a completely comfortable experience when I want to come home and just game after work and gym.
So this has me conflicted for a while where I feel like I like both console and PC gaming for different reasons but can't quite get the best of both worlds. I enjoy consoles hassle-free resume, fast SSD, gaming on a tv, and being on the couch, then, on the other hand, I like having higher graphics and framerates on PC games and occasionally playing with a mouse and keyboard. Maybe the PS5 pro could help with this conflict...
Is anyone else similarly conflicted?
