This kind of attitude is why people think the Overwatch community is rancid. (Rant i guess?)
I was in a discussion thread talking about how I play against Zarya on DVA based on my experience.
This user argued with me that I was assuming the other player was bad and in response I mentioned it actually the opposite bc I started playing 2-3 months ago and was playing in diamond/master lobbies bc I was duo’ing with a friend who was at some point top 500, so I always assume im the worst player in the lobby since im new. Then they posted this reply essentially saying I can’t have an opinion or any knowledge on how to play if I’m new…
And then ofc they immediately blocked me when I went to reply and I thought Reddit crashed 💀
like it’s Overwatch not rocket science and honestly Overwatch isn’t that hard if you have other fps experience. I placed gold/plat without even knowing what my buttons or cooldowns did or even being able to name a single character I played simply by brute forcing my way through placement matches with aim and mechanics. I just hate getting this nasty energy just for being new like I’m sorry you were or are stuck in low elo for like 2 years or something but we don’t all have to play for half our lifetimes to understand how to play. This is why people leave the community. Just an unnecessary need to ego people for no reason.
This and I got flamed so many times while I was learning the first week or so I played I actually thought about getting off and like I’d type “I’m new just trying to learn x,y,z” and honestly some of yall in quickplay and low elo are jerks and losers bc these people will not hop off your back no matter what. Like do you think ppl WANT TO be bad on purpose? Obviously not yall just look like assholes yelling at and focusing new players and bots.
I’ve met so many awesome people playing this game with open mic and text chat so honestly it sucks that so many ppl probably get the ick with OW bc of these one off interactions.
TLDR; be nice it’s free.
