Getting Fired Tomorrow: How Should I Handle/prepare for the Meeting?
Hi everyone,
I could really use some advice. I think tomorrow might be the day I get let go. My boss has set up a meeting with her boss, and honestly, I’ve seen this coming. The main issue is that I’ve been declining their RTO for a while now. They started asking us to return last September, but I moved out of town for grad school and have been using that as a legitimate reason not to comply. Recently, they’ve been pushing harder, asking me to come in at least twice a week. The challenge is that my commute is almost 160 miles round trip, and making that trip more than once a week just isn’t realistic for me. I proposed coming in once a week, specifically on Tuesdays, so I could manage the commute and still get back to campus for my evening classes. I’ve explained to my manager how much grad school means to me and that I’m doing my best to balance both commitments(back to one server now)
However, it seems like this meeting with her boss is happening to formalize the decision. At this point, I’m prepared to accept the outcome. I’ve worked hard at this job, but if they can’t accommodate my situation, I understand that it might be time to move on.
I’d appreciate any advice on how to handle this meeting professionally whether it’s about negotiating, standing my ground, or leaving on good terms. If you’ve been in a similar position, could you please share me advice .I'm feeling nervous when boss added someone upper management .
