Understanding current pp system, rework and top scores / thoughts on them

Ive been wondering how the current pp systems works and i see a lot of different answers. Also dont know what the rework is going to change. Are people happy with the current system, if not why. Are people happier with the upcoming rework. I see a lot of mixed reactions when it comes to akolibeds top score why is that. Just a couple of questions I have for the forum since a lot of these seem very polarizing.
