Opera in which a mezzo-soprano plays violin?

Hi! I heard about a role in which someone in a mezzo-soprano role plays violin (though I've heard sometimes someone in the pit will play in the singer's stead). I'm a violinist and mezzo-soprano lol so I was wanting to maybe fit something like that into my senior recital next year. Would anyome happen to know which opera that is so I can find sheet music?
