Red lightning symbol while charging

My phone (OnePlus 7) suddenly died yesterday while I was using it. I tried to charge it but it didn't work. Today when I tried to charge it again, it showed a red lightning symbol and again switched off. Does anyone know what this means? Showed it in a mobile repair center and she was also not sure what is the issue. Did my battery completely die?
