My dad killed someone last night

I just found out. I'm NC because he's my narc abuser- everything you could imagine besides SA. We live in different states, but last year he showed up at my home, unannounced. Because of that, I own a firearm. He's got a record for gun violence, and domestic violence. At the beginning of the month I finally let him know why we will never reconcile, and blocked him everywhere.

Yesterday evening, he was driving on the side of the road, and hit a young woman and her toddler son. She died at the scene, and the child is in the hospital. I assume he was arrested, but details aren't clear. I don't know why he was on the side of the road, maybe he nodded off, maybe it was poor eyesight due to poor health.

I feel sick, angry, numb, disgusted. I hope he was arrested. I hope they prosecute him. I hope he gets locked away. Her family deserves justice. I hope her kid pulls through, and is surrounded by a loving family.

I've contacted the office that represents the state. I'm going to help that family if possible, it's all I can think to do.
