Oakton vs vienna vs McLean

We are moving to nova for work at innovation campus at merrifield. We are a couple and soon will have a baby. I never lived in the suburb. So i really don’t know what to expect. Our life style is to walk the city, go hike and bike, go to restaurants, invite friends etc. From my understanding, there is a lot of traffic in northern Virginia, so not so easy to go to DC. But maybe there are parks, pedestrian walks etc in the suburbs too. I hear mclean is good, but then i felt like houses are in the forest and can be lonely. We have a budget of 2 mil for housing but even that seems not to be enough to find a reasonable house. Which neighborhoods do you recommend us to look and which ones to skip. I saw a good house in oakton, but is it too far? Is it very different from Vienna? How does the school rankings different in these areas? Our colleagues recommend Vienna.
