Log cabins

Anyone know anything about building log cabins in NI? Husband and I were wanting to buy land in Fermanagh/Tyrone and building a log cabin on it, like to actually live in as a permanent dwelling. Can’t find anything about how to go about doing it, nor can I find any companies that do log cabins - more like fancy sheds. My friend’s mum did it in Fermanagh but she had the skills to kind of build it herself. Also can you get a mortgage to do this or would we have to have the whole price ourselves? Would you get an architect to design it? Any information at all is helpful.
