Do I HAVE to get Faith to unlock ending C?

Hello, I am on my first playthrough of Nier: Replicant. I have understood that in order to get ending C you must collect all 33 weapons in the game. I have collected 32 weapons, all but Faith which is a One-Handed sword that you can get at part 1 in the Forest of Myth. I am obviously now stuck in Part 2 cause from what I understood there is no way to go back. My question is, is starting a brand new save my only option or can I get ending C without collecting Faith?
