Piercing babies ears

My daughter is two months and all my female family members have been asking me when I’m going to pierce her ears. I keep telling them that I’ll do it when she is able to ask for it. But I have been told that I should just go and do it. If you pierced your babies ears when did you do it? Did you let them choose or did you just go ahead and do it?
