Question from a newbie: do collectors pick one thing/style and collect that or is the goal to collect EVERYTHING?

Seeing everyone saying they collect plushies and seeing “collectors”, is the end goal to collect everything in neopets or did you just pick specific things? Maybe this is a dumb question so if it is I’m sorry.
