The name Vesper

Why so much hate? It really doesn't sound odd to me. Names with er is common enough and Ves seems quaint. The reoccurring associations are people being reminded of Princess Vespa (a fictional character from a ridiculous movie that has no right to be as well known as it is) or wasp in German (a language I don't speak. Mist is dung in German, does that mean I'll think of shit because it's misty?) there's also the similarity to vipor or whisper (Violet is plenty popular despite it sounding like violent) so maybe it's just me- but what's the deal? I feel like all these reasons are straight up silly. I also understand that Vespa is a scooter brand, which shouldn't be as relevant as people seem to make it out to be. Imagine if someone made fun of the name Jerry because of Ben and Jerry's. I don't know. I just feel like there's no reason that's justifiable enough yet it's still seems so commonly disliked. Is it simply because it's not a common name? Vespers is another thing but I don't particularly care if my name were to be associated with an evening prayer service. The meaning comes out as either evening prayer or evening star which are beautiful meanings as I see it.
