MR2 Worth it?

Found a 1987 MR2 listed for $4k. Owner is a body shop mechanic who bought it for $3k, spark plugs s replaced, fluids replaced and new tires on it according to him. Tach doesn’t work, T-tops are held together with a sizable amount of plastic-weld. I realize in retrospect the photos are god-awful so my apologies lol but there is very little rust on the frame or underside of the car, not really a car person mostly into bikes so I’m unsure on if this would be a worth it-fixer upper. Clean title, 5-spd manual.
