Video playback stuttering

So I was watching stranger things in 1080p 10bits HEVC in vlc media player and the video playback was stuttering...it was not smooth.... it's jittery and laggy at times..YouTube runs smoothly but any third party media player stutters .... Anyone got this issue if yes .... How you resolved that.... Let me know if Anyone got the solution. Thanks 😊
