Emergency Release on helmet, does it matter?

I’m completely new to riding and am looking for a helmet. Some have Emergency Release tabs that can be pulled by paramedics to remove the cheek pads for easier helmet removal, supposedly to minimize neck movement when removing the helmet.

Should I care about this when choosing helmet? In my mind it sounds like a really important feature, but they seem to have been around for 15 years and still aren’t standard so they can’t be that necessary.

From what I read paramedics won’t remove the helmet if there aren’t airway problems. Maybe that’s rare enough to make them unnecessary?
