Are (old) cruisers really just that slow?

Managed to get a 2002 Suzuki VL800 for $1600. Put some work into but it was a little too sluggish for my taste so I traded it for a 2005 Honda VT1100C2 Sabre. Equally as sluggish lol.

I was hoping for a little more pep but the HD 48, Triumph STriple, and even the Honda CBR300R felt more fun.

Side note, how much should I expect to get for the Shadow Sabre if I list it on fb marketplace? It’s got about 4000 miles
