Full time international student

Hey everyone, does anyone know what happens if I get an F on one class while I am enrolled as international student? I know from my visa status, I should be enrolled with 12 credits at least, and I was taking 4 courses with 3 credits. I see no hope of passing the final exam tbh. Too much drained and burnt out. I really want to drop the course but I am afraid when I apply for extension of my study visa, It might affect their decision to not extend it. If anyone had experience like this, could you please give me a suggestion? Would It be better to just get F on the course and have 4 courses in my transcript or is it just fine to drop it..
