Independent Mazda vs Industry Consolidation long term?

So grateful for the unique driver-focus and design details of Mazda vehicles…but with another major merger (Honda-Nissan including stake in Mitsubishi), Mazda is seemingly sailing alone in a world that seems increasingly consolidated.

Yes, Mazda and Toyota have a tech sharing agreement and the CX-50 hybrid is all Toyota, but that’s comparatively limited, right? I really hope Mazda makes the right calls these next few years, especially with hybrid/EV investments, they just don’t have the scale of the world’s larger companies.

Their first in-house hybrid system to come in the next couple years has a LOT of pressure. Is continued NA growth the key?
