Why is Silver Surfer not more popular?

I am a decent marvel nerd but I don’t know anything more than others. I am a huge fan of Silver Surfer and his whole comics line. Why is he not more popular? And. What would you call like the galactic universe type thing like how the comics are laid out. They aren’t on earth like the Avengers or F4. So how would I learn more about it than just the Silver Surfer comics and the Infinity Watch comics.
