Maui Hotel Advice - Down to Three Options
DECISION MADE - We're booked at Marriott Wailea Beach Resort. Looked into AC and Residence in and decided it was not resort enough (AC pool overlooks parking lot). Remoteness of Ritz was a factor that eliminating it. And Westin Spa and Resort Hokupa'a Tower was close second but the greater availability of shopping and food at Wailea and the general guidance from this group led me to this decision. We also took some YouTube video tours of the properties and the Marriott just seemed nicer. Now we're ready to go! Thanks all who provided input.

First time to Maui and still startled by the prevailing pricing for all the Marriott properties there. Requirements are at Ocean View (or front) and looking at resorts only. We're not golfers, so that's not really a consideration. Not sure how the 2023 fire is still affecting things. We'll have a car and planning to hike, Road to Hana, volcanos, etc., so we won't be at hotel a ton, but want it to be nice when we are there.
Seems like we're going to be looking at $900-$1000 per night with taxes/fees. Here are three finalists
- The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka'anapali Planning on room with the "Lanai Experience" in the Hokupa'a Tower
- Marriott Wailea Beach Resort Partial Ocean View Room with Balcony
- The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua Deluxe Ocean View with Lanai. Ritz is ~$1100/night all in, so a little more $.
