Beckon Trample/Deathtouch Hypocrisy
It's simple really. It's in the rules already. 702.19b exp#2 A 6/6 green creature with trample is blocked by a 2/2 creature with protection from green. The attacking creature’s controller must assign at least 2 damage to the blocker, then choose how to assign excess...) In this example, the Trample is symbolically sound.
A dino can legally dunk on an indestructible miniature gnome golem to hit a player, which makes visual sense, so...
Trample should regard full damage, not lethal damage? Toughness. Right?
For example If a 2/2 trample deathtouch spider kills an living 7/7 walking skyscraper with 1 damage, it should still have to get around the dead toughness laying in front of it to get to the player. Symbolism and imaginary sense.
This is my only problem with magic.
Does it make a little more imaginary sense to require toughness depletion rather than lethal/deathtouch damage to get through?
Should we update Trample to requiring full damage rather than lethal damage?
