What format hasn't been solved?

I'd like to introduce a couple of friends to the world of Mtg and I'd like it to be a format that is brew-friendly. By this, I mean a format that allows a player to brew his own deck that doesn't fall into meta/anti-meta and still rake wins at the LGS. If I can make myself clearer, which format hasn't been optimized yet?
