what is she keeps the house

here me out: it’s not every day you get a property that has 7/8 bedrooms that can fit her entire family. what if she keeps the house and can she take out a loan and use it to fix up the house? pay like a service or something. Her fixing up the property will increase the quality and worth of the property; a house is an asset and this would be just great to fit her family and no stress about paying rent every month. Idk it just makes me sad this whole situation - even though a lot was her fault, she has so many dependents on her I just wish an org can help her out
