Worth the upgrade to 24gb?

I'm extremely tight fisted with money. Looking to upgrade at some point my MBP I've used since 2015 to a Mac mini.

The 16gb would be more than enough for me today but should I splash out on 24gb as I look to use the machine for a decade if I can help it,like I said I find spending cash an extremely joyless experience.

Cannot decide. What's the vibe? What do you think?

Given there is no real answer I'm just poking around for opinions given my other half is fed up with me procrastinating with this.

I did go all out with my MBP and maxed out the ram and processor and it's lasted.
