Mac not working with Disney+

My boyfriend has been having an issue for about a month where nothing will play on his Disney+. We know it’s not an issue with the account because it works on other devices (Tv, iPhone, etc.) In the image we’re playing The Lion King. We are able to access the menu, select a title, click play, but then it goes black like above.

Things we’ve tried: - Restarting - Logging out and back in - Shutting off and back on - Software update - Clearing/Deleting cache

We’ve looked through many online solutions involving settings changes in both safari and on the actual Mac and nothing is working. Please let me know if you can think of anything.
