Hair Loss
I (25F) was diagnosed with SLE in Summer of 2021. I had pretty severe symptoms and involvement and have struggled to manage the symptoms. I was thankfully diagnosed right after I graduated college and have still been able to maintain jobs. I have adjusted my expectations, moved jobs to have something less demanding, and trialed countless meds. Thankfully - I have found a pretty decent combo that hasn’t put me into remission but has made my life less painful.
HOWEVER. My hair is falling out. I used to have gorgeous, thick hair. It was curly and fine, but there was a lot of it. Through the years the hair loss has become more severe. My hair is thin and my curls are weak. My hair dresser has given me cuts that look more voluminous but it’s definitely becoming much more obvious.
What have you found that helps with hair loss? I have tried rosemary oils, biotin shampoos, serums, etc. Biotin causes acne and I do not want to make my skin act up because I will pick at it. The bald spots are primarily around my hairline and the top of my scalp. The thinning is everywhere.
I am open to essentially anything at this point! I feel like this disease has taken a lot from me at such a young age, so I would love to keep my hair around.
