First Precision Rifle Suggestions?
4th of July is just around the corner and I’ve heard from a handful of people that’s a fairly good time to take advantage of sales to pick up a precision rifle.
I’m looking for suggestions in the $2000 price range. Currently working PD, and I’m fortunate enough to hang out with some very experienced shooters at my department.
They all are issued Desert Tech SRSA2 rifles which unfortunately is way out of my price range to pick up.
Currently stuck between a Daniel Defense D5 Pro in 6.5 Creedmoor which I’ve got the opportunity to purchase for $1800 or the Aero Precision Solus for $2100 dollars.
I’ve heard negative things about the Daniel, especially regarding the bolt being super wobbly yet at the same time, it’s used by another local agencies SAU team that has had nothing but good things to say about the rifle.
I haven’t heard anything negative about the Solus but I haven’t seen them come in stock as a complete rifle since looking into grabbing one.
This rifle would serve as a PRS gun ideally but also would be something I train with for work.
If you could give me your guys’ thoughts on maybe what your opinions are between the two or if there’s another option I should be looking at, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
