M560 button detection and customization problem - have yet to found a solution
Hi all, I've recently decided to come back to my m560. My main reason for this was the side buttons it has, which I wanted to customize. After searching for a bit, I found that the fitting tool for this is SetPoint.
The first problem I encountered was that I didn't find a way to assign m4 and m5 to the side buttons - the "Generic Button" and "Do nothing" functions didn't seem to work.
After playing with it for a bit, the situation worsened as the upper side button suddenly stopped working while I was on my computer, no matter the function assigned to it.
I tried downloading x-mouse button control and after seeing SetPoint overshadowed it i uninstalled SetPoint and experimented with XMBC on its own. The weird thing was that the "Mouse Button 4" and "Mouse Button 5" slots only lit up when tilting the wheel, and nothing seemed to light up the "Tilt Wheel" slots, including the side buttons, which the program seemed to ignore altogether.
After reinstalling SetPoint to see if anything changed, the upper side button still seemed to not be working.
I run Windows 10 and my mouse drivers are up to date.
I scoured the internet and have yet to find a similar problem, let alone a solution to it.
Do you know how I may customize my side buttons?
Do you know why did the wheel tilt correspond to m4 and m5 on XMBC?
Do you know why my upper side button isn't recognized? Is it a hardware issue? It seems improbable to me because the side button stopped working as I was using it, but no test I tried recognized that button.
Thank you for reading and helping!
