Best Prose in LitRPG

So I'm a relatively recent LitRPG enjoyer. Started after constantly hearing the hype around DCC, got through all of it in a few weeks before checking out some other popular ones based on recs here: Primal Hunter, HWFWM, Azarinth Healer, etc.

While I have certainly enjoyed aspects of these books (the level-up gameplay loop dopamine hit is not to be messed with). Holy crap are many of them technically just... Abysmally written. The first few chapters of Primal Hunter especially were rough holy crap.

I understand that the majority of these books are written as a serial—authors pumping out a huge volume of pages with basically no editing. I'm still more of a traditional sci-fi/fantasy guy, and comparing the prose of any of these books, to say a Joe Abercrombie... It's not even close.

Are there any series out there that even approach that level of technically good writing? My girlfriend jokes that LitRPG are just dollar-store romance books but for men, and right now we are NOT beating the allegations.
