What is the best alternative to IrfanView?

I really like IrfanView. Actually it's the only Windows software I'm missing under Linux.

What's a very similar alternative to it?

What I like the most are the big number of single-key edit functions. I don't need it as an image viewer since I use sxiv for that. I also don't want to run it through wine.
