I feel like the latest champ releases are not being hyped enough, which makes them feel out of place

Back in the day, if a champion was going to get released we'd have clues and events which occurred randomly in the game. We'd have videos and hidden messages left in the wiki site of League. It was such an amazing feeling to see all the hype in the league community in Reddit and Facebook when people figured out that something was coming and it could potentially be a new champion.

People would make fan-arts, trying to figure out what the teased champion might look like. People would make posts upon posts, trying to predict the champions kits. Nowadays what we get is a champion release out of nowhere, people get hyped for just a small amount of time and they stop caring. I'd like to show the importance of hyping up a champion release with this comparison :

  • Kai'sa is the daughter of a 8-9 year old champion who changed the meta and the playstyle of the game so drastically that people would either hate him or love him. People would be screaming "Are we finally getting Kassadin's daughter?" every time a new teaser was out. The hype lasted about a day and now she feels out of place.

  • Jinx was hyped for weeks, was beloved by the community as soon as she was released and even people who do not play league can tell that Jinx is Jinx when they see her. All of that is despite the fact that Jinx didn't exactly have a spot in the lore back in the day, she was a building stone.

Riot does a great job with the unique kits and fun designs but I feel like the lack of hype kind of ruins it.
