2017 leaf warranty

Back in October I tried to get my warranty ticket started (50k miles and 7 bars), they said a battery would be ready in march... in June my car completely stopped working, it has been sitting at the dealership since then waiting on buyback. The arbitrators never communicate with me and this process has been very frustrating. They told me they would reimburse a rental at $35 a day but I'm 23 and can't rent a car. I bought a 4k beater and I want nissan to pay for at least what they would have on the rental ($2940) but they are saying they can't. I thought I was getting a car that would last but I got a dud and had no help from nissan. What are the chances that I get the money back from the beater I wouldn't have needed if my car worked.
