EX90 test drive 1/10/25

I stopped by my local Phoenix area Volvo dealer and got to test drive the EX90 and OMG, it was great ride. Very quiet, smooth, and incredible powerful acceleration for a 7 seater SUV…

They just received 3 vehicles last month and already sold one. Have 50 customers that preordered but these customers rather wait for their preordered cars as the two on the lot did not meet all the preordered customer’s specifications (color, options,..). He said a few safety functions work now with the LiDAR but a Big SW update is coming mid year to activate L2+ and all the additional safety features related to the LiDAR. The cars are in a data gathering mode at this time.

He said there’s only about 5-6 vehicles on all the lots in AZ but will not carry cars on the lot for sale anymore in the coming months. They would just have one for demo and if interested, a customer would have to order one. Too pricey a car to have a bunch premade sitting on lots. Said the cars are selling very well that his first preordered car won’t be here for another month.

Lastly, if I didn’t buy one of the two on his lot now, my new order would not be available for 6-8 months. This tells me that Volvo production is still slow and not in full swing 🤢
