Help a girl out

I've had paralysis for 3/+ years on this decision, and now I need to make a decision which laptop / Chromebook would best suit my needs? It will be a personal computer, not for work.

I will be using it for basic things: (1) chrome - browsing, email, Google docs, sheets (2) Netflix

I occasionally use Excel, but, not a necessary function as there's a desktop available to me if needed. I'm indifferent to touchscreen (I think).

Must: 13 or 14" Backlit keyboard (ability to turn this on/off) Decent sound (Harmon/Kardon?) Display 1920x1080 (nothing too crazy that will drain battery)

Would be nice but not necessary: Flip the screen back to watch shows (2 in 1?) Number pad on the touchpad

If this is all I need it for, would it be safe for me to buy used?? Every time I try and look I get so overwhelmed with options I can't even begin to decide.
