Undergrad research assistant interview

Hi everyone,

Hopefully it’s okay for me to post this on here! I had an interview today for an undergraduate research assistant at a molecular biology lab today and I hope it went well..

They asked me some questions regarding how PCR and western blotting works and I kinda choked up a bit. I definitely should’ve reviewed it a bit more. I was only able to go over the main ideas of how they work (primary antibody, secondary antibody etc) or for PCR(attaching a primer w polymerase, adding oligonucleotides) Do you think it’s okay if I didn’t go too much into detail?

Also, should I send them a thank you email? I know everyone is always 50/50 on those but I’m not sure if a research job would benefit from it. I was interviewed by PhD students!

Please any help is appreciated. I really want this job.
