Induction dilemma please share inputs before remodeling is finalized
Hi all. I'm a gas range person and our cooking uses earthen clay pots for some dishes/ sear onions and peppers for some dishes. One of our toddlers recently got diagnosed with asthma so my husband (who does no cooking whatsoever) would like to switch to induction to eliminate the toxic fumes to maintain clean indoor air. Understandable request. I wanna simply say yes but I'm having a hard time letting go of the gas range. Example: for the new kitchen layout the kids won't be in the kitchen when things are cooking unlike now so there's less exposure (not zero but a lot less since we're also getting a more powerful hood). They'll be in another room entirely. Also he and I both grew out of our asthma at a young age. I spent 3 months on various forums about induction to change my mind about cooking with induction and I've seen the pros but I also saw the cons about whirring noise and motherboard/circuitry issue how it's costly to replace. How if there's a blackout we can't cook etc. If anyone has been in my shoes please give inputs on which path you chose. I'd appreciate the helpful responses. What's the best approach here? Bonus if you can share which induction range you got. I'm looking for a 36" in size preferably 6 burners. Most I saw had 5 burners. Then there's the Hallman that looks great but has terrible reviews unfortunately. Thanks so much
