RomCom Female Leads

I was scrolling through a different sub reddit and it made me realize, a lot romcom dramas have incredibly energetic and bubbly female leads that become dull and depressing by the end of the series. Especially if the series involves the leads breaking up/separating for some time.

I absolutely hate this trope and can’t figure out why writers are so keen on it. One example is Business Proposal. I absolutely adored this drama, but honestly, Hari became so boring after the big reveal. She was such an interesting character in the first few episodes, I wish they had kept that.
