iPad 10th gen or Xiaomi Pad 7?

okay, i want to buy a tablet for uni and i don't know which to choose- ipad or xiaomi pad 7. xiaomi was launched in india like 2 days ago and it has large storage too but i don't know why i never liked xiaomi before (probably because i used a very basic model phone like 10 years ago) but if it's worth it, i'd have no problem. i don't know about iPad though, i didn't use any apple device. in terms of storage, i think xiaomi's best but everybody uses iPad for studying and i truly don't get why everybody's hyping it up. and now for republic day sales, xiaomi pad 7 is ₹26999 + ₹5999 for focus pen (total $380) but ipad comes around ₹40999 along with apple pencil ($474). which one would be more useful to me? also can anyone elaborate about Apple student discounts?
