saddlebags vs panniers aita

So I got in an argument yesterday and was asked to leave a nice custom bike shop in karol bagh because I told the sales guy not to correct my English... I'm from America for crying out loud.... I was looking for some aluminium saddlebags and wanted to see what options they had in stock and he told me they are called panniers... I told him "i don't care what you call them dickies, panniers, ext, where I'm from we call them saddlebags" and asked him not to correct my English... He asked me to leave his shop because I was being rude so I left... Am I the aashole or what???
