Help Can bad diarrhea happen after constipation?

I take Imodium way too often. Like to prevent even using the bathroom at all. I had bad intense cramps that signaled maybe diarrhea after being constipated for days on Friday before a car ride. I took 2. Felt ok rest of the day and Saturday. Woke up Sunday with bad cramps again. Tried for 30 minutes to use bathroom. Was able to go a little bit but it was type 1. Gave up for a little then finally was able to go. It was hard stool but also liquid at the same time. Finally gave way to mostly liquid with some harder pieces. Pain when away luckily. But it’s been an hour I’m going to have diarrhea again. I also have a debilitating fear of being sick and anxiety around using bathroom in general. After this bout my mom said THIS is when I take immodium. Not when I go normally or to prevent. She said my misuse of Imodium could cause me to actually have diarrhea and cramps like this. Is that true?

Also this might be dumb, but I’m in kind of a “damned if I do, damned if I don’t” mentality because now I’m scared that if I take Imodium, if I still needed to go it will somehow come the other way?? I also took a zofran just in case.

Just looking for some reassurance or thoughts to bring me back down to reality. Or maybe I’m right..
