$1,000,000 Now or $1,000 Every Time You See Someone Fall—Which Do You Choose?
A wealthy person offers you the following deal:
1. Take $1,000,000 upfront, no strings attached. It’s yours instantly.
2. Get $1,000 every time you witness a stranger fall down in real life (no videos, TV, or staged falls). The person must be a complete stranger, and each fall must be unique (no counting the same person multiple times). You can’t bribe, ask, or manipulate anyone into falling. This offer lasts for exactly one year—after that, you stop earning from it.
So basically, with everything else being equal, you need to witness 1,000 strangers fall within one year to get to 1 million dollars. That is roughly 20 strangers per week.
Which option do you take, and why?
