Man Refused to Vacate Women’s Seat on Bus

Today, I was on an express bus to Hyderabad. The bus was full. At one stop, a woman with a small child got on. All seats were taken, including a women’s reserved seat where a man was sitting.

I asked him, “Bro, it’s a women’s seat. She’s with a baby. Can you move?” He said, “No, you move. Why are you asking me?” I replied, “Brother, I’m on the general side. You’re in a reserved seat. You should move.”

He got angry and said, “Malli endhuku chepthunnav ra? Lanjodka, nannu abukuntunnav ra? Ninnu guththapagala kodatha.” He even threatened me. I stayed calm and respectful, but he wouldn’t budge.

No one on the bus said a word. In the end, I gave my seat to the lady.

I’m still wondering—did I do the right thing? What would you have done?
