Why won’t my pothos propagate?

I have a pothos named Frederick and my sister wants to have him too. I’ve tried propagating twice and the nodes just don’t grow. I tried direct sunlight and indirect and I have no clue what I’m doing wrong. Am I cutting them wrong? I’m cutting a vine then in between nodes then putting them in water. I change the water every two or three days with spring water that we drink. Any advice would be helpful!!
