Mother! (2017)

I know that this film is pretty polarizing but I honestly thought that this was a great film and very creepy in parts. I can definitely see why some wouldn't be a fan of it or why they would think it was weird & pretentious. I thought that Lawrence's performance was by far the best I've ever seen from her & I loved her in Winter's Bone, SLP, DOFP, American Hustle, and the Hunger Games movies but her work here was seriously top notch. I really loved the cast in the film too. JL, Bardem, Harris, Pfeiffer, etc. I really liked the film, it's message and the symbolism throughout, I actually picked up on it when Bardem's character had this room that he didn't want anyone to go in & this crystal that he didn't anyone to touch or mess with. Then when Pfeiffer's character goes in & breaks the thing, he flips out & it gets really intense. I remember saying "Oh, shit!" when I saw him grind the glass in his hands. It's a strange movie but there are clues about what the film is about. The two sons fighting over the father's affections (Cain and Abel), Ed Harris' character just referred to as Man in the credits & Pfeiffer being referred to only as Woman. He had a medical problem & kept grabbing his side, then we see a wound when he's getting sick in the bathroom. Looked like a rib injury, which would make him Adam because through the rib, Eve is created. I know with some films, fans can be mixed on films like this and with messages like this, some don't mind them but there are some that do mind them.

What did you think of this film? Did it creep you out? Do you feel sorry for Lawrence's character? I honestly felt like giving that poor woman a hug the entire film lol. I felt like that for the boy in Hereditary as well. They went through sooo much in those films. Also, did you pick up on what the film was really about beforehand, were you confused or did it get spoiled for you?
