Proposed storage architecture

Proposing this: a SAS HBA in IT mode hooked up to a Dell MD1200. An LDOM owns the HBA and talks to the Dell via serial to keep the fans from achieving "stick your head up the ass of a jet airliner" sound levels. Said LDOM runs Solaris 11.4 CBE and ZFS, and offers NFS and SMB to (A) the other LDOMs on the box over an internal switched network and (B) external boxes over in-kernel smb and such. Dell MD1200 the best one to use here for a bunch of 3.5-inch SAS disks? We would just use the server itself but she only takes 2.5-inch SAS disks and only has 6 bays.
