Can your beer league hockey team execute a proper (or adequate) break out, out of your defensive zone?
Mine can not, and as a winger I am part of the problem. Every time our D gets the puck in our D zone us forwards are past our blue line just lazily looking back for a stretch pass. We’re not skilled enough to make a pass from that distance. I’ve attempted to bring up different strategies for our break outs and nobody really seems interested in trying to to improve on this which is fine, as we’re all just out having fun. However it does get annoying not being able to have a decent break out even once a game lol.
What strategies have worked for your team? I would think just by having forwards close to the D for a quick outlet pass would be a good start but I haven’t had an opportunity to give it a serious try yet as we’re just a couple games into the season.
Any tips would be great!
