Why is The Sparx Machine So Divisive

Interested to hear opinions here. I've been sharpening my skates both by hand and with the Sparx and I have to say I find the ease and consistency of the machine far outweighs the hand sharpening. my been working in a pro shop my whole adult life so I know what I'm doing with a blade master and
I played college hockey so ik my edges pretty well too before anyone jumps on those. Just want to know why the machine gets bashed so much
