How many hermit crabs for a 20 gallon?

I’m going to the beach soon and I want to get a hermit crab from those terrible tourist shops to give it a better life. But I already have 2 hermit crabs in a 20 gallon. If I get a 3rd one will that be too many? Maybe it’s better to just not get one that way I’m not supporting the business
